The Work Services program provides individuals served with work opportunities and on the job training Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm. These services are provided on site by contracting with local businesses to process their products and off site by working with employers to meet their labor needs.
Through prime manufacturing on site, in a factory setting, our employees learn each step of production and perform tasks such as sawing, sanding, assembling, painting, finishing, quality checking, and packaging. They also learn to operate hand tools, power tools and equipment. Through the use of adaptive fixtures and sophisticated engineering even those with the most severe disabilities can participate effectively in the production process.

One of the primary goals of this program is to provide work experience that will teach the employment and social skills necessary for employment in the community. To that end, an increasingly important part of the services we provide is work adjustment. People in this service receive an evaluation of their skills, abilities and barriers to employment so comprehensive planning can be done for their employment future. This program is time limited and the expectation is that participants will enter competitive or supported employment.
While many individuals seek our Work Services program as a step towards community placement, others are content to stay in the program long term in order to earn a paycheck and have the opportunity to socialize with friends.
