Integrated Services
At Napa Valley PSI every person enrolled in the Integrated Services component is expected to work. The goal for all participants is direct hire, integrated employment. Integrated Services is seen as a way to explore employment options, assess vocational interests, gain independence and build skills. These services can be utilized to help ease the transition into employment, and to develop customized placement plans for people with disabilities.
Napa Valley PSI will use a person centered discovery process, positive personal profile and customized approach to place each job seeker. Volunteer jobs will be used to teach work skills (hard and soft) and explore potential employment settings. Once a job seeker’s vocational goals have been determined, Napa Valley PSI will assist the individual to open a case with Department of Rehabilitation and access the Napa Valley PSI Placement Services program. To encourage employment and assess skills and interests, all Integrated Services participants will be involved in work-based experiences. A variety of volunteer experiences will be developed based on the expressed interests of the people enrolled. Opportunities will be sought after that teaches a wide range of work skills such as: clerical tasks, janitorial tasks, money counting skills, computer/typing skills, sorting/ matching, assembly, and customer service. Community activities and weekly schedules are developed based on a person’s interests and support needs.
